My choice? After living for over 55 years and being in the old car hobby for more than 40 of them I have established values. Above all I want what I purchase to work. I do not want to here about a wonderful warranty or great service after the sale. I want the sale to be the end point where I walk away with a usable product.

When I choose I choose for perfomance and expect my needs to be met. That usually means I spend very little time shopping price. When I was shopping for a car for my daughter I wanted the best and most reliable car I could get her. An automotive wholesaler friends kept telling me the cars I was looking at were too expensive and dealer auction cars were much cheaper. Cheap was not a prerequisite when I shopped for her car. Unfailing performance came ahead of all.

A few years ago I was an independent dealer for a producer of restoration supplies. I was also servicing collector cars with the same products. My price for his products was $1.00 more that direct main order from the manufacturer. The dollar covered my shipping expense. Generally manufacturer shipping was $6 so the "in your hand" price was really $5 less from me. People asked why they should buy his products from me. I told them that I used his products and found that some did not meet my expectations. If you bought from me, I only sold the products I was satisfied with. If you bought from him, he would sell you anything he made. That was the beginning of the Bernie's Choice concept.
